Welcome to Main Street Georgetown

Step into a piece of history and one of Texas' "Best Historic Town Squares," where the Williamson County Courthouse serves as the centerpiece to the finest collection of late Victorian commercial architecture in the state. Georgetown has worked diligently as a Texas Main Street City since 1982 to restore, rehabilitate and revitalize its charming downtown square.

As a result, Georgetown was the first city in Texas to be named a Great American Main Street City in 1997, the highest honor bestowed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Today, three National Register Districts host more than 180 historic businesses and homes, and the Town Square Historic District is a singular point of Lone Star State pride.
